Aditi Rao Hydari On Heeramandi Co-Star Sharmin Segal Getting TROLLED For Bad Acting; Actress Says, ‘It Has Gotten Very MEAN, It's Not Fair’
Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been under fire ever since his first web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar released on Netflix earlier this month. From the magnum opus sets to paying more attention to the feel of the show rather than the plot and acting of the actors, netizens have been expressing their displeasure about the show. Amidst it all he has also been accused of nepotism for casting his niece Sharmin Segal, who is being trolled for her expressionless and bad acting, as Alamzeb. Now, Aditi Rao Hydari, who essays the role of Alam’s elder sister Bibbojaan, has reacted to all the trolling.

In an interview with Puja Talwar, Aditi expressed how picking on someone under the pretense of expressing views is very mean. She shared how people should consider the way they say things or criticise others. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she added, “I know some people like something and some people don't. There is a way to say it. It can get very mean. It has gotten very mean and I think it's not fair and it shouldn't happen like that. I don't know what else to say but I do feel bad. I think we should all understand it and be there for each other.” ALSO READ: ‘Found Myself Very LONELY’: Manisha Koirala Recalls Her Cancer Journey, Reveals No One Was There Apart From Her Immediate Family

The 37-year-old actress went on to add, “I also feel people do what they think is important to them. If some people want to be mean, that is their prerogative. We have to find a way around it otherwise it will be really difficult. Whoever is facing it, I would just say, ‘look at the positive’.” ALSO READ: Sonakshi Sinha On Not Doing Intimate Scenes In Films, Shows: ‘Always Made It Clear To My Director, This Is Something I’m Not Comfortable Doing’

For the unversed, in the show, Alamzeb and Bibbojaan are Mallikajaan’s (Manisha Koirala) daughters. The latter is the matriarch of the Heeramandi.

Released on 1st May 2024, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series. The show stars an ensemble cast of Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and many others in pivotal roles.
